Maggie announces retirement
After 16 years in the sport, Maggie Mac Neil announced her retirement last week at age 24. The accolades poured in on social media from around the swimming world, and Maggie came to her decision after much thought and careful consideration. After obtaining a pyschology degree from the University of Michigan and a Masters degree in sports administration from Louisiana State University, while at the same time reaching the pinnacle of her sport, Maggie is ready to pursue her next dream, a law degree and a career in sports law.
Congratulations Maggie, thanks for the many great moments and memories, thanks for being such an incredible inspiration to an entire generation of young LAC swimmers, thanks for being such a great ambassador for the London Aquatic Club and for Canada, and good luck as you embark on this next exciting journey. We're all going to miss seeing you swim, but we're all looking forward to your next great achievements.
